Next year's Canadian Grand Prix is set to go ahead after race organisers came up with a £12 million compensation package for teams, reports today claim.
The organisers are expected to pay teams approximately £1.2 million each to run in Montreal without tobacco advertising.
The race was originally scraped from the season calendar because of new anti-tobacco legislation.
Race promoter Normand Legault, the Quebec provisional government and the Canadian federal government will all contribute to a $20 million (£11.7million) compensation package, it was reported today.
If the grand prix does get the final go-ahead next year's Formula One season will be a record 18 races. The race, at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, is scheduled to take place on June 13th.
