Cannabis worth €7 million seized from van in Dublin

Gardaí and customs officers have seized cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €7 million in Dublin.

One tonne of the drug was found after officers from customs and the Garda National Drugs Unit searched a van on Parkgate Street, near the Phoenix Park, at 11.30am.

It is believed the drugs arrived earlier by ferry from The Netherlands.

Two men, aged 25 and 31, were arrested at the the scene and taken to Kilmainham Garda Station. They are being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
