Adam Carroll (26) claimed second place on the podium in the China A1GP today, hours after winning the sprint event at Chengdu. The 26-year-old finished behind Filipe Albuquerque, who recorded Portugal's first win of the series, and in front of Britain's Danny Watts.
Neel Jani took fourth for Switzerland while Malaysia's Fairuz Fauzy claimed fifth and Australia's John Martin sixth.
Albuquerque was quick from the start and soon overtook Carroll for second place but the safety car was then brought out when Holland's Robert Doornbos stalled on the grid.
The top three remained in the order they were on the first lap after the restart before Albuquerque climbed into the lead following the first round of pit-stops.
Carroll then moved past Watts into second and looked good for moving into first place but when the safety car was introduced again after France's Nicolas Prost spun out, Carroll was unable to make ground on the leader.
