Cycling: Mark Cavendish continued to enhance his reputation as cycling's new sprint king with a fourth stage win in the 2008 Tour de France.

Cavendish emerged to the left of veteran sprinter Robbie McEwen to become only the second British rider to win back-to-back stages in a Grand Tour with victory in stage 13 from Narbonne to Nimes.

The quick run-in to Nimes was again perfect for the sprinters, and the old guard of Erik Zabel, Thor Hushovd and McEwen once again had no answer to Cavendish's speed in the final 100 metres.

Earlier today, Riccardo Ricco and Leonardo Piepoli were kicked out of the Saunier Duval team in the wake of yesterday's doping scandal.

Ricco tested positive for the blood-boosting drug EPO on the fourth stage of this year's Tour de France and Piepoli and the rest of the team were subsequently withdrawn.

"Mauro Gianetti (team manager) has lost faith in them and he decided to fire them from the team," David Garcia, a spokesman for Saunier Duval, explained.

Ricco is to be presented before an investigating judge later today.

"He will be heard by investigating judge Elyse Yamani in a moment," state prosecutor Antoine Leroy told a press conference in Foix. "It could last a few hours."
