Celtic put their UEFA Cup exit to Valencia behind them today with a 4-0 demolition of Dunfermline at East End Park to stay 12 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League.

John Hartson inspired the victory with a glorious double for the second successive week with Bobo Balde and Alan Thompson grabbing the other goals.

Celtic's Old Firm rivals Rangers followed their dramatic penalty shoot-out UEFA Cup triumph over Paris St Germain on Thursday by beating Hearts 3-1 at Ibrox.

Ronald de Boer set them on their way with the opener after just seven minutes with Russell Latapy and Shota Arveladze adding further goals.

Hearts' sole reply came from a free-kick by Kevin McKenna.
