Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has been offered a £2 million stake in the club as part of a £25 million share issue.
O'Neill will receive the shares if he agrees to stay on as manager for an extra year after his current contract expires in mid-2003.
The deal was revealed in documents issued to the Stock Exchange in preparation for the share issue launch to UK and Republic of Ireland investors tomorrow.
O'Neill has widely been tipped as the man Manchester United want to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson and the "golden handcuffs" offer would see him receive none of that cash if he quit Parkhead in 2003.
O'Neill, who had previously turned down an offer to join the plc board, is also expecting to be handed a significant slice of the £25 million to buy new players in time for next season's Champions League campaign.
