The Newtownpark Avenue Residents Association in Blackrock, Co Dublin, wants the closure of a local Readymix Depot which processes a half million tonnes of cement each year and "should never have been located in a residential area".

They are also seeking traffic calming measures to stop trucks "thundering" past their homes and strict enforcement of the speed limit.

The demonstration will be held outside the Readymix plant at Newtownpark Avenue this morning.
