Chelsea have agreed a fee with Real Madrid for Cameroon midfielder Geremi of £6.9 million sterling, according to reports today.
The Real Madrid player, who spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, would be the second signing in two days for Chelsea following West Ham defender Glen Johnson's move to Stamford Bridge.
Geremi is one of Chelsea's long list of targets, which includes Inter Milan's Christian Vieri and Blackburn Rovers' Damien Duff, British newspapers said.
Chelsea, who were bought last week by Russian billionaire Ramon Abramovich, had offers for Paris St Germain's Brazilian striker Ronaldinho and Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids rejected yesterday.
