Wilson - The Republican vice-presidential nominee, Mr Dick Cheney, voted yesterday at a local volunteer fire house in Wyoming before heading to join his running mate, Governor George W. Bush, to hear the election outcome.

"I urge everybody out there to take advantage of their opportunity to vote," Mr Cheney told reporters after taking his turn.

"It looks like it will be a close election, but I think one that will hopefully lead to our victory tonight," he added.

Mr Cheney would not say whether he voted for other Republicans on the ballot. The Republican candidate in his district for Teton County commissioner, Capt Bob Morris, advocates allowing people to grow their own marijuana plants.
