The Chief of Staff, Lieut Gen Gerard McMahon, will become the first head of the Defence Forces to be greeted by a British military guard of honour when he reviews a detachment from the Scots Guards on Horse Guards Parade in London this morning.
Lieut Gen McMahon left yesterday for a three-day visit to Britain. He will have meetings at the British Ministry of Defence on "areas of mutual interest" and will attend the Edinburgh Tattoo.
