ALEXANDRIA - A senior CIA official was charged in Alexandria, Virginia, yesterday with spying for Russia, two days after he was arrested trying to leave the country.
Mr Harold Nicholson (46), who has worked for the CIA for 16 years, was charged with espionage and conspiracy to commit espionage. US Attorney, Ms Helen Fahey, told a news conference that Mr Nicholson had received more than $100,000 dollars since June 1994 from Russian intelligence services in exchange for confidential intelligence data.
