President Clinton sent his "warmest greetings to the citizens of Dun Laoghaire" yesterday to mark the 1,500th anniversary of the founding of the town.
"As Dun Laoghaire looks with confidence to the new millennium, the American people join me in sending best wishes for a wonderful anniversary celebration and for every success in the future," Mr Clinton said in a signed note on a White House letterhead.
