Waterford's Ken McGrath and Galway's Diarmuid Cloonan have been banned for four weeks following their dismissals during the counties' Allianz National Hurling League clash on March 23rd.
The GAA's Games Administration Committee's decision to impose the minimum punishment for the offence will be welcome news to McGrath in particular, as he will now be available for Waterford's Munster Championship opener against Kerry on May 11th.
Meanwhile the dates and venues for the second phase of the NHL were also finalised by the GAC today.
The tie of the round sees Kilkenny take on Tipperary at Knowlan Park on Sunday April 13th, while Clare play host to Cork and Wexford visit Galway.
However the committee decided to defer a ruling on a possible replay of the Kildare-Sligo clash until the next meeting of the committee.
Despite Kildare winning the Group 1B clash in February they were stripped of he points following an inquiry into irregular team submissions.
