Morris Tribunal: Closing submissions to the current "managing explosives" module of the Morris tribunal into Garda corruption in Donegal will begin today.

The first submission will be made by barrister Mr Seán Quinn, on behalf of several gardaí represented by the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors.

It is expected that submissions will take a week to complete, following which the tribunal will rise until June 9th. The current module is examining allegations that two gardaí manufactured bogus IRA finds in Donegal a decade ago.

Yesterday afternoon, Supt Martin Callinan gave evidence in closed session "in relation to materials being produced to the tribunal for the tribunal's benefit. It is of no interest, it does not affect any other parties so no other party need attend that other than the tribunal and the commissioners legal team," Mr Peter Charleton SC said.
