Chris Coleman has urged Fulham striker Louis Saha to sign an extended contract and ignore speculation about a move to Manchester United.

Saha, who has scored 10 goals for Fulham this season, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford where Sir Alex Ferguson is a big admirer.

Fulham hoped the speculation would end after they issued a statement, insisting the French striker was not for sale. But the story has resurfaced, and manager Coleman has instigated talks about an extended contract for Saha.

Coleman said: "You would expect this kind of speculation because Louis is a top player and he is banging the goals in. But it is not going to happen. Louis is not going anywhere. He is very important to us and he is very happy here and wants to stay.

"He has two years left on his contract anyway after the end of this season, but we want to offer him a new deal. I have spoken to Louis already myself. We have yet to talk to his agent, but all the signs are good," the Fulham manager said.

Saha has been a crucial part of Fulham's success this season, playing as the only striker in a 4-5-1 formation.
