The High Court has reserved judgment on proceedings taken against the Aga Khan's stud, Societe Civile, by a former secretary.

Ms Mary Charlton (54), of Canalway, Kilcullen, Co Kildare, has been a secretary at a stud in Co Kildare owned by the Aga Khan for 27 years. She previously obtained a court order against the Stud Civile de Paris restraining it from holding a disciplinary hearing involving her.

She is seeking an order striking out the defendant's defence for failing to make full discovery in accordance with a court order of December 1998 to assess damages. She is also seeking attachment and committal of the Aga Khan for alleged breaches of court orders.
