The court was told that the defendants had failed to comply with court orders on July 2nd and 7th to move from the lands at Balally.

An interim injunction was granted by Mr Justice O'Sullivan in the

High Court on July 2nd last and a copy of the order was posted in the field at Balally.

On July 7th Mr Justice Costello granted an interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants from trespassing on the lands of the plaintiff and directing them to leave.

Counsel for the plaintiff said there were a substantial number of caravans belonging to members of the travelling community on the plaintiff's lands. Members of the travelling community had been extremely aggressive when approached on the site.
