Coombe Hospital to expand

The Coombe Hospital in Dublin is shortly to begin an extensive expansion programme which will add two wings to the existing building. The extension will incorporate ultrasound and "parentcraft" departments, a neonatal centre and a new theatre for caesarean sections. The hospital's intensive care unit, which acts as a referral unit for hospitals throughout the State, will be doubled in size and an additional 15 post-natal beds will be available.
