The coroner for South Derry East Tyrone, Mr Roger McLernon, is to make safety recommendations to the British army following the deaths of four soldiers of the Royal Irish Rangers in a fire on a base at Magherafelt, Co Derry, two ago.

An inquest jury yesterday a finding in accordance with the medical evidence and added that in all probability the fire had been accidental.
