Clothing, jewellery, CDs and DVDs were confiscated by officers during the two-day event at the Co Antrim, seaside town.

Advisers from manufacturing companies were part of the police operation, according to the PSNI.

Chief Inspector David Wallace said: "The sale of substandard counterfeit goods benefits organised criminals, not the consumer.

"The revenue lost damages the economy and the ability of legitimate businesses to invest in people and develop new products.

"These seizures demonstrate the police commitment to the ultimate aim of the Organised Crime Task force - cracking down on organised criminal gangs."

The seizure was the latest in a series of raids as police crack down on the sale of illegal goods throughout Northern Ireland.
