A couple who claimed a property owned by them will have to be rebuilt as a result of demolition works on their neighbour’s house have settled their High Court action.
Michael and Mary Walsh had sued the former owner of the neighbouring house, Martin Murphy, and a businessman, Charles Nilan who bought it from Mr Murphy. The houses are part of a terrace at Crowe Street, Gort in Galway.
Mr Murphy, who now lives at Ballyduff, Ardrahan, Galway, and Mr Nilan, of Chessey, Ardrahan, denied the claims.
President of the High Court, Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns, was told that, following talks, the matter had been settled.
