Cannabis worth €250,000 seized and three arrested

Men held and drugs discovered after car and van stopped in north Co Dublin

Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit stopped and searched a van and a car shortly before 8pm last night at Tooman, Lusk and seized suspected cannabis herb worth about €250,000.

Suspected herbal cannabis worth about €250,000 was seized in north Co Dublin last night.

Three men were also arrested.

Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit based at Harcourt Square stopped and searched a van and a car shortly before 8pm last night at Tooman, Lusk.

The operation was part of an ongoing operation targeting the activity of a North Dublin crime gang.

Three men, all in their 30s, were arrested and are being detained at Swords and Ballymun Garda stations under provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.

The suspected cannabis has yet to be analysed.
