Gardaí have begun an investigation after a man collapsed and died under mysterious circumstances in Dublin city centre on Sunday.
The man, who was in his late 30s and wearing an orange jacket, was said to have been walking up Westland Row near Pearse Station before he collapsed on the road at around 7.30am on Sunday.
A passing motorist stopped and administered first aid and CPR, and the man was then brought to St James’ Hospital where he later died. A postmortem is due to be carried out on Monday.
Gardaí said there were a number of people on the street at the time of the incident and have appealed to members of the public who may have been on Westland Row between 7.25am and 7.45am on Sunday morning to contact Pearse Street Garda station on 01-6669000.
