Two masked gunmen flee unharmed after threatening service station staff

Two masked men held staff at a county Louth service station at gunpoint during an attempted armed robbery last night.

Officers in Dundalk are investigating the aggravated burglary which happened at a filling station in Bellurgan, just north of the town, at around 9pm on Thursday evening.

The intruders were said to have threatened members of staff who were locking up, but eventually fled the scene empty-handed.

One of the two men is described as being 6 foot in height and was wearing a black jacket, black balaclava, blue jeans and gloves, and the second man was 5’6” and wore a green jacket, navy beanie and a scarf over his face.
