Gardaí have issued an appeal for help in finding a man who assaulted a six-year-old boy in a supermarket car park.
The boy, who suffered an injury to his arm which required hospital treatment, was knocked to the ground by the man in the daylight attack in Galway.
The boy, who was with his mother, did not suffer serious injuries in the incident at the Lidl outlet in Doughiska on the east of Galway city.
Public appeal
It happened last Thursday but only came to light on Tuesday, November 3rd, when gardaí issued a public appeal for help in apprehending the attacker.
The grey-bearded man may have left the scene in an Audi car.
A Garda spokesperson said they believe the attacker may be Polish.
Gardaí at Oranmore Garda station (091-388030) have appealed for information.
