Man (42) arrested after about 100 mature plants and 6.5kg of cannabis herb found

A man has been arrested after gardaí seized about €200,000 worth of cannabis at a property in Listowel, Co  Kerry.

A man has been arrested after gardaí seized about €200,000 worth of cannabis at a property in north Kerry.

A garda spokeswoman said about 100 mature cannabis plants and 6.5kg of cannabis herb were found in the Kilmorna area of Listowel at 4.30pm on Thursday.

The planned search carried out by Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit and Listowel District Drugs Unit was part of an on-going operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in Co Kerry.

The scene at the property is being preserved for technical examination.

The arrested man (42) remains in custody at Listowel Garda Station.
