Male teenager found dead in Navan, Co Meath

The 17-year-old was discovered at an address in the town on Monday morning

A 17-year-old boy was found dead at an address in Navan, Co Meath, on Monday.

Gardaí are investigating the death but it is not thought to be suspicious at this stage.

The deceased, who has not been named, was discovered at a house on the Slane Road at about 8am.

He was attended to by emergency services and was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

Due to the sudden nature of the death, the case must be investigated so that a coroner can order an inquest if required.

A Garda spokesman confirmed the death and said a file was being prepared in accordance with the Coroner’s Act.
