A man is being treated in hospital after being wounded in a shooting in Co Cavan last night.
The incident occurred at a house at Lisdrumskeagh, Shercock at about 9.45pm.
Gardaí said the man, who is in his 20s, was confronted at the front door of his house by two men armed with a handgun. A single shot is understood to have been fired.
The man was taken to Cavan General Hospital with non life threatening injuries. A technical examination of the scene is to be carried out today.
