A “sophisticated” fuel laundering operation has been uncovered by Revenue in Co Waterford.
The plant had a capacity to produce 10 million litres per annum and a potential yearly loss to the Exchequer of €5m, Revenue said.
It was discovered at a commercial premises in Portlaw. A number of large tanks and ancillary equipment were detained during the raid.
Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service assisted by the Garda found the plant today.
