A 13-year-old boy died and a man in his 50s was injured in the collision

A 13-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car in Co Donegal.

The incident occurred at Ballymacarry on the main Buncrana to Carndonagh Road at about 10.30pm on Thursday night.

Another pedestrian, a man in his late 50s, was also hit and was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene and his boday was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital where a postmortem examination was due to take place today.
