Three men have been arrested in connection with an aggravated burglary in south Dublin last week.
The suspects were detained by detectives in the Dublin area earlier this morning and are being held at Terenure and Rathfarnham Garda stations.
The men are being questioned over an incident at a house in Terenure last Thursday.
A man in his 60s was confronted by at least four masked men when he answered the door of his home at Fortfield Road.
The men are alleged to have assaulted the man and demanded cash, before fleeing when the man’s wife returned and disturbed them.
The man was later treated for minor injuries at St James’s Hospital.
Gardaí responding to reports of the incident intercepted a red van near the scene, and arrested the driver, a man in his 30s, who was later released.
The three men arrested today are being held under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
