Two arrested after cannabis plants worth €410,000 seized

Men aged 26 and 30 held after hauls found during garda searches in Co Offaly this week

Two men have been arrested following seizures of cannabis plants worth more than €410,000 in Co Offaly.

Gardaí from Edenderry searched a premises at Clonmore in Edenderry on Wednesday at about 10.30pm and found cannabis worth about €250,000.

The following day, gardaí with the help of officers from Tullamore District Drugs Unit , stopped a vehicle near Tullamore and found a quantity of cannabis plants.

Later the same day during a follow up search of premises in Killy, gardaí found more cannabis plants worth €160,000.

Two men, aged 26 and 30, were arrested in connection with the seizures and are in custody at Tullamore Garda station.

The three seizures are part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Co Offaly.
