Two men in their twenties have been arrested after a handgun, ammunition and a silencer were found in a car in north Dublin.
The items were found during a search of a car which was stopped by gardaí in Ballymun on Monday.
A 9mm handgun, three rounds of ammunition and a silencer were recovered.
Two men who were in the car at the time were arrested and taken to Coolock Garda station where they are being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
