Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, is to receive £3 million in funding for the provision and replacement of urgent priority equipment, it was announced today.
Giving the funds to the Eastern Regional Health Authority, the Minister for Health, Mr Martin, said it would allow for theupgrade of a number of key areas within the hospital.
He also said he had asked the ERHA to finalise talks for the provision of paediatric surgery in Dublin’s three children's hospitals at Crumlin, Temple Street and the National Children’s Hospital.
Mr Martin said he was concerned at the delay in appointing replacement and additional permanent consultant paediatric surgeons in Dublin due to the difficulties in reaching a consensus among these three hospitals.
