Prague - The Czech parliament adjourned a tense confidence debate on the new government on Tuesday with the fate of Prime Minister Josef Tosovsky's caretaker administration in the balance.

The lower house adjourned until 9 a.m. today after the main opposition Social Democrats demanded that the government announce clear timetables for price deregulation and privatisation.
