THE DAUGHTER of a couple who were killed in a crash on Wednesday night was in hospital yesterday with serious injuries sustained in the collision.
Tom Kenneally (65) and his wife Angela (61) suffered fatal injuries when they were involved in the head-on collision about four miles from Kilkenny city on Wednesday.
The couple, from Drom, outside Templemore, Co Tipperary, were heading from Kilkenny when the crash occurred at about 6.45pm. Mr Kenneally died at the scene, while Mrs Kenneally was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny but was pronounced dead there.
Their daughter Emma, who was also in the car, is being treated for her injuries. Two people who were in a second car in the crash were brought to St Luke’s. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
Tom Kenneally, a farmer, was well-known in the Templemore area, while his wife was a teacher in Drom National School who retired within the last year.
