DCC said it sees continued good growth for the current year having reported what it said were "good" first quarter results.

Chief executive and deputy chairman Mr Jim Flavin said at the company AGM that the group is also seeking a number of bolt-on acquisition opportunities in the IT, energy and healthcare areas.

He said DCC is progressing with its acquisition from BP PLC of its oil marketing and distribution business, excluding mainline petrol stations, in mainland Scotland and Northern England.

"This acquisition will be strategically important in providing a platform to develop a significant oil marketing and distribution business in Britain over time," Mr Flavin said.
