The deadlock over the staffing levels for the new £29 million Jonathan Swift continued at Irish Ferries yesterday. Ship's officers and members of SIPTU met yesterday to review the situation. The company has told the union that the summer sailing schedule for the vessel will be cancelled if it does not hear that ship's officers are prepared to accept the new staffing levels by July 2nd. There were no formal contacts between the two sides yesterday, however.
