Sale centre Mel Deane is the only uncapped player in Ireland's team to face a New Zealand Divisional XV in the first game of their three-match tour in Timaru on Saturday.

Deane will partner Lions centre Brian O'Driscoll in midfield for the only game on the itinerary before the Irish take on the All Blacks in back-to-back Tests.

Keith Wood will captain the side at hooker and is joined in the front row by Leinster captain Reggie Corrigan and Munster prop John Hayes.

The only absentee through injury will be Malcolm O'Kelly, who has a shin problem. The Irish second row will feature Paul O'Connell and Gary Longwell as a result.
