Death of convicted paedophile

Convicted paedophile Myles Brady (67) died at the weekend in Beaumont Hospital from a suspected heart attack

Convicted paedophile Myles Brady (67) died at the weekend in Beaumont Hospital from a suspected heart attack. The former childcare worker at St Joseph's Orphanage in Kilkenny had been serving a four-year prison sentence for indecently assaulting four boys in 1976 and 1977.

Due to a worsening heart condition, he was taken two weeks ago from Curragh jail to the Dublin hospital where he died at about 6 a.m. on Saturday.

In June 1988, Brady, who had an address at Griffith Avenue, Dublin, pleaded guilty to seven charges of indecent assault at St Joseph's. Last May, he featured in the RTE documentary series on child abuse, States of Fear.
