Four Derry men charged with IRA membership were remanded in custody by the Special Criminal Court today.

Gary Donnelly (38), Michael Gallagher (28), Martin Francis O'Neill, and Patrick John McDaid (39) are charged with membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Óghlaigh na Éireann, otherwise the IRA, on March 16th.

They were arrested during a Garda operation into the activities of dissident republicans in Co Donegal.

The case will be mentioned again in four weeks.
