Two men who appeared at a special sitting of Naas District Court last night had their detention extended for a further 24 hours by Judge John Brophy.

Mr Richard Whyte (30), of Richardstown, Kildangan, Co Kildare, and Mr John Moloney (42), of St Martins, Geraldine, Athy, Co Kildare, were charged with membership of an illegal organisation, styling itself the Irish Republican Army, at 6.45 a.m. on July 7th.
