A suspicious device discovered outside the constituency office of Sinn Féin TD Mary Lou McDonald this morning has been made safe by the Army bomb disposal unit.

The device was discovered at the premises on the North Strand Road in the north inner city area of Dublin earlier this morning.

The area was cordoned off and traffic diversions were in place while the device was defused, but all routes have been reopened.

The device has been brought to a secure military location for analysis to determine its viability.
