DIY chain Woodie's is to create 150 new jobs with the opening of three new stores around the country.

Fifty jobs will be created at its new store in Castlebar and a further 100 people will be employed when two more stores open in Navan and Nenagh later in the year.

The latest store openings are part of Woodie's nationwide expansion programme.

"Our store opening programme in 2006 represents an investment of over €3 million," said Ray Colman, Chief Executive. "We have invested over €15 million in past three years expanding our network, redeveloping existing stores, increasing our product range and improving our systems."
