Donegal County Council has adopted a waste management plan which rules out incineration for at least five years. It has opted instead to rely on landfill, and up to four new sites around the county are to be selected. Both Fine Gael and Fianna Fail backed the plan adopted at Monday's meeting of the county council. The plan sets recycling targets of 50 per cent to be achieved over the next five years.
