Dromoland Castle in Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare, has been named as the AA Hotel of the Year tonight following a ceremony at the Guinness Gravity Bar in Dublin.
The Seaview House Hotel in Ballylickey, Co Cork scooped the AA ourtesy and Care Award while Emlagh House in Dingle, Co Kerry won the AA Guest Accommodation of the Year.
Speaking at the awards ceremony AA Membership Director Dennis Fisk said: "The high standards of Irish hotels should make us proud.
"The standards achieved are among the very best in the world, tonight's winners have excelled in an industry where excellence is the norm."
According to the AA, Dromoland Castle won the overall award because "the castle's commitment to provide the highest level of service is absolute".
The Seaview House Hotel won the Courtesy and Care Award for "consistently high standards of genuine hospitality and attentive service".
Meanwhile, Emlagh House scooped the award for guest accommodation of the year because of "the skilful and wholesome cooking at breakfast emphasises local produce including the freshest of fish" and for being "one of the finest guest houses in Ireland and a credit to all involved".
The AA inspects over 700 establishments throughout the country and is Ireland's longest established hotel grading organisation.
