The number of passengers passing through Dublin airport last month grew by 9 per cent to 2.4 million, according to data released by the Dublin Airport Authority.

Travel to and from continental Europe was among the fastest-growing sector, with passenger numbers on these routes up 18 per cent to over 1.3 million passengers last month.

Travel to and from the United Kingdom rose marginally to just over 810,000 passengers during the month. Passenger numbers to North America grew by 5 per cent to 174,000 journeys over the same period.
