Gardaí in Dublin  have started a murder inquiry following the death of a Slovakian man (32).

Roman Godla, from Cabra Park, Phibsboro, died in the Mater Hospital shortly before 10 p.m. last night, after being taken from his house. A post-mortem indicated he died as a result of head injuries.

Gardaí believe Mr Godla may have worked on a building site in the city on Saturday and have asked anyone who knows of his movements on Saturday or Sunday last to contact the the Mountjoy Incident room on (01) 666 8666.

Three people arrested in connection with the investigation have been released without charge, and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
