Dublin pub damaged in gas blast

A Co Dublin public house was extensively damaged in an explosion at the weekend. Garda forensic experts are satisfied that the explosion at the Mountview Inn in Blakestown was caused by gas.

The pub was unoccupied at the time of the blast at about 3.15 on Saturday morning, and there were no injuries. The premises is part of a shopping complex at Blakestown, a townland near Blanchardstown.

The emergency services were called to the scene after the windows were blown out in the pub. The inside was burned out, and the roof was also damaged in the blast.

Other businesses in the shopping centre, however, were unaffected and have reopened for business.
