Rome - An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the open-ended Richter scale has killed at least three people in northern Italy, rescue services said yesterday.

One of the dead was an Englishwoman of Indian origin, who was crushed in a landslide triggered by the earthquake, which happened on Tuesday at Gargazzone, between Bolzano and Merano.
